Meet the Family Behind Bar46
Why We Farm
The Bar46 is a family-owned and operated farm in Nez Perce County, Idaho. When we purchased this farm, we wanted a place for our children and their families to build and live near each other — family is our priority.
For over 30 years, we've been breaking bread every Sunday as a family, and more times than not, our Sunday dinners include friends who have become family too. We raise chickens, pigs, cattle, vegetables, alfalfa, and grandchildren.
The number 46 has always been special to us. My son and I both wore the number 46 in high school and college playing football. After we purchased the property, we discovered the farm sits on the 46th parallel — at 46.46 North, to be exact. All in all, we're not sure if we picked 46, or it picked us.
What Makes Us Different
We're the farm — not the middleman. We're not importing products or reselling someone else's work. We are the supplier, the producer, and the manufacturer.
We don't use chemicals, and we don't use glue. Everything we make is all natural.
We don't use steroids or growth hormones, and never will. We follow Temple Grandin's approach to animal handling, and we practice regenerative, no-waste farming. If you take care of Mother Earth, she'll take care of you.
We're not a large corporation with employees answering phones. When you call or email us, you'll speak with our family.
Where It All Started
We're Jim and Jacque Moreno, the husband-and-wife team behind Bar46 Farms.
When we're not raising cattle, pigs, and chickens, we're spending time with our kids and grandkids — Sunday dinner together is a tradition we've kept for over 30 years.
This farm is our home, our business, and our legacy — and we're honored to share a piece of it with you and your dog.
